Welding
Our specialised welding and tool form section practices the art
of restoring worn
or damaged forge press or hammer tools and
the manufacture of those tools.
We aim
to repair the tools to at least their original condition,
however we are often
able to enhance the tool further, resulting
in an extended life span.
IFAtech Limited achieves this prolonged life span by utilising
advanced resurfacing
techniques, by resurfacing the original tool
we are able to produce a finish which
cannot be achieved by
conventional manufacturing techniques.
Our process is a pure weld method and not superficial coating or
plating, tailored
for use on impact, abrasive wear, friction and hot
or cold working tools, this system
efficiently restores tools utilising
a range of exotic alloys, including
- Udimet 520
- Waspalloy
- R41
- Income 718
Each alloy is carefully selected based on its individual properties and
also the materials
with which the final tool will come into contact with
during its day to day production.
This ensures the best balance between
life span and cost is accomplished.
This also involves research and development into new alloys and
welding techniques with the aid of other organisations including
TWI ( The Welding Institute) who are based on the advanced
manufacturing park here in Sheffield.
